This is important!
I received an SMS from a friend yesterday about Starbucks’s Chairman, Howard Schultz; I had to check the news before I post anything. I can’t figure out if it’s ona those pranks, fraud letters to cause chaos but pls visit this link Starbucks Thanks.
Now, I am fully aware as y’all that Starbucks is franchised here but you gotta ask, their supplies, they still buy’em from the mother company. The revenue, is it shared with the mother company?
Far most important question; What do you we do about it?

not sure about the supplies, but the revenue is shared in terms of a royalty.
ie 5% or 10% of revenue depending would go to the parent company as part of the franchise agreement.
supplies, equipment and training too i would assume would come from HQ for a fee.
but i would boycott starbucks for the atrocities it has inflicted upon true coffee lovers everywhere, you gotta admit it really does suck ass :P

It’s a fraudulent letter. Some moron wrote this just to piss a lot of people off. So don’t believe it. :)

i never liked starbucks !
starbucks isnt the only Jewish-American owned company, and we cant track stock owners in every Company in the world.
Starbucks of Kuwait buys mostly local supplies, except for the Coffee beans, Tea, and accessories, boycotting isnt the answer, maybe sending emails to the franchise owners would be more effective

Ok, Talking from the “heart” o getting’ all patriotic; I’d defiantly go like: “PEOPLE, BOYCOTT THE ENEMIES OF ISLAM” bas it looks like the Danish products scenario “rewind”! The reason I asked about the supplies, revenue, franchising issue is the same very reason why I was against the Danish products boycott and thought it was senseless, ekh6elat el7abel belnabel! How bad is it truly gonna effect them – “Financially” when we stop purchasing coffee?! And yes, it is not the only Jewish American chain in the country, what do we do?! What do the people who own these establishments do? The people who work there?
Sknk: Guess when this matter blows out of proportion, the franchiser would defiantly make things clear bas in my opinion, not fair for him to take all the crap. Atrocities! Why? I happen to loooooooooove their Mocha! Bas no problemo, mafi aktar men elma6a3em o cafes in Kuwait :)
Mini: Got the same reaction..
Fuzzy: Yeah, I personally do not think totally boycotting will help but a petition formulated and signed by a mass number of people, via blogs or online, would do the job and yes, it is not only Starbucks, other names will be dragged along

im anti coffee, and anti anything coffee related, including coffee shops, so i dont think i have a problem teehee :P
unless its a shesha joint.. that would be a whole different issue LOL!

I doubt it’s true…some lame people with no lives prolly started that. Maybe it’s owned by a Jew, but I SERIOUSLY doubt their revenues go to th Israeli military. Ridiculous mindless people

Reading back the post and comments, so what if it’s owned by the Jews? I never thought that was the opposition. Poeople have to start noting the difference between Jews and the Israeli government and military. They’re two different things.

Hey Kiwi… I’d like to welcome your opinions here n’ here’s my reply (hope you understand my simple lingo):
Ok, you are right, Israel as a country (with all the decisions that its government take) is different that being a Jew (as a religion / belief), we get that, but eventually Israelis are Jews right!! The primary goal is the “Holy land”, it’s not the issue of doubting personal believes of Jews abroad or the question of their loyalty towards their countries (where they live in) or their religion, we know that many Jews protest against war and injustice. I don’t believe in violence at all but… this is how it has to happen… “unfortunately”
As for Starbucks, well we know that there are Jewish owned retail shops and businesses in the country / gulf and this is not the issue; When Howard releases such a statement (forget that it is fraudulent or not for now), it would sure stir up anger, especially when it states that the money is going to the army! It has nothing to do with the coffee bas the purpose Kiwi.. this is what we are protesting against, what we are fighting…
If it was a fraudulent PR, why didn’t he reply denying it?! Ok, we are silly n’ mindless.. let’s see him give an explanation then, it’d be a different issue..
