Bloggers (& bloggerettes) influence, Bazaar in mind…

We are dangerous people, beyond recognition! Walla – think of what we do everyday, we check news online – browse for gossip & disasters to formulate posts & type them down in what you, me or everybody else, in what we think is “personal space”. We have exceeded the regular ranting process & got really enrolled & woven into the texture of our society..

WE DO MARKETING!

We do matter! No matter how trivial your posts are or shallow, whether personal experiences or a simple review; Our words are taken into consideration… We’ve encountered many situations where bloggers were involved in some sorta trouble & others stood by them; Someone disses a certain company or service provider & they get replies (positive or negative ones)… you get the flow right – people have eyes on us @@ !

Political blogs, fashion blogs, blogs with recipes & those who present things in a nice creative way, we do make a difference to the extent that “bloggers” are now considered to be hip – the “it” people who know it all & is around… We’ve got badges, new templates, fashion… It’s just crazy! Someone told me it’s a trend – I think it was you Moey, right! Well, in a way, some people out there do it for a while & when they get fed up they just quit! Guess they were doing it for fun.. I do it for fun bas to me, it’s more like talking to a therapist! Although I am talkative bas still, no one would listen to me all the time – you poor people are forced to! LOL! :P

Elmohem, I was at Starbucks Plaza; picked up two copies of Bazaar & my arm nearly fell off from those copies! They were heavy! The editions are getting bigger every time! A teenagers’ magazine that was modestly distributed is now all around! Mashallah of course bas ; They started small & grew up fast! Flipping through the magazine, I couldn’t help noticing that there are many topics & restaurants reviews that were covered in blogs! Am not implying anything but is this mere coincidence or do some people actually go through blogs searching for topics! OR MAYBE, some of these contributors ARE bloggers!

I dunno, sound kinda weird to read stuff in a magazine that I’ve commented on, last week for instance! Is it our posts that inspire these magazines & certain publications…

I wonder! & I would also like to tell these people, be careful - I might write a post about YOU next time!

A solution could be to have the magazine online and those who was a hard copy should subscribe
it would save them a lot of costs in the long …

You’re definately right about our powerful and us being potentially dangerous and this is part of the reason why I choose to be anonymous, it’s just less drama for me.

However, I don’t know about bloggers being considered “it” people, I think the stereotype of bloggers is that they’re introvereted antisocial people and not of the hip crowd, maybe that’s just that in the US and in the Middle East it’s a cool thing to be a blogger, I don’t know!

  11. 'GreY' Says:

Yeah even i read the Bazaar , its heavy , wasnt intrested cz most of the topics are coverd on blogs already …

  12. Rayboy Says:

Its true.. we are watched … for everything we do or say or post… i have been a victim once .. where i was about to be sued for some posts ….. but there was my blogger friends who were there to support and get it solved..

Its a bad thing that “Freedom of press” is mere just few words of fiction here in the middle east.

Before i used to wonder …. how come , every topic we discuss or want to know … its all there on the net .. you go to google and search it … its all there ….

where does it come from ? from blogs …. someone out there .. wrote about it , dicussed talked and made the internet informative……

Maybe the movement should be called “freedom of blogs”

  13. Amethyst Says:

That was one great prep talk. Especially for me:) Threaten all you want, blackmail is the king;p

  14. Cat Says:

I read bazzar. Many topics within the magazine were discussed in different blogs earlier. I don’t know if they really copy or reprocess the bloggers ideas and thoughts!

And it’s true that bloggers all around the world have spread their influences over the community,

  15. Hani Obaid Says:
