Religion…

I seriously DO NOT like inserting my religious beliefs on my blog; It just makes me think that I’d hurt someone if I just express my thoughts on a certain subject… I know you’d say it’s your blog, you can say what ever you want bas NO… Islam is about respect! It ain’t about dissing others! How do we demand respect when we only preach & don’t practice!?

I am very open minded when it comes to different religions or even Muslim parties bas I tend to take a corner because there are things that I wouldn’t know how to reply to & this is when I get scared because am afraid it would have it’s toll on me.. you see, I think a lot! Am the kinda person that demands rational explanations – proof if you may say to prove a theory. It comes from the fact that am stubborn & sometimes very opinionated about what I have in mind.. So it’s better to be safe & keep away.

On Facebook, a friend of my young sister had this picture & she wanted us all to comment on it.. fine! It was funny & we “ha ha” & “LOL”d! till another girl posted her comment… you see, she’s a nice girl but she got way too serious about it! It reached judgment day! I mean a silly picture managed to take us all to judgment day!

Am not making fun of her or that, I do that to people sometimes – remind them of the great ending bas this was totally irrelevant!

I personally do not incorporate religion in every little thing I do! I could be flipping a magazine that contains obscene pics, do I throw it away!? TV is full of shit! Do I go Sofi & smash the MF!? Or do I simply stay home – waiting for “the day” to come?!

My philosophy is “Balance”; enjoy your life without neglecting your religious duties – which also includes making space for others to act the way they want ON CONDITION they respect back! Our Prophet PBUH was not unfair to others neither was aggressive when he spread his holly message.. why do we do that then?! Those sheikhs on TV that scare the shit out of me! People saying “estagfer allah” if I pass by! KNOWING THAT AM DECENTLY DRESSED! Is that how you expect people to follow you (if this was your intention)!?! Is this the right way?! Is there a right way!? Besides Mr. Bin Laden dearest’s Jihad or that dimwit Abou Sayyaf!? God have mercy on us!

WHYYYYYYYY!?!? Why do they have to do that in the name of religion? Why do they give this nasty image for the rest of us?!? I look at the youth of Arab nations & they are LOST!! They don’t know what they want & they don’t feel anything in their hearts! Even basic Islamic duties are dissed! WHYYYYYYY!? Babies, just try! By time you will get the feeling I swear! I wasn’t like that when I was younger! I was an asshole! Yes! A jackass Kaman! I didn’t pray! Wasn’t covered! I did shit!!!!!!!!

There has to be a point in your life when your mind says STOP – then you pull yourself up & do the right thing… it all comes in steps – do not do what you are not convinced of… just try :(

[ Update ] P.S: Am not hypocritical or anything – remember the Seikh’s post that got some people angry; This is totally different – though some consider it a religion to me it’s not.. am sorry but this is how I think ..

yeah..religion differs…with that even the human minds differs…people can hol on to one single aspect in a religion to make it look bad….but they forget the rightous ways of the religion..

  2. asoom Says:

I definately believe in balance and respecting others beliefs but I totally insert personal religious feelings/beliefs into alot of my daily activities and conversations and definately my blog, I don’t see the contradiction! I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t, my religion is a HUGE part of my identity and if it was something I had to tiptoe around than I just wouldn’t be myself! I wasn’t always like that though, it took lots of experience and frustration and being judged (since I’m in a religious minority) to get to this point.

    Good, please keep it up.
    The alternative is blind acceptance.

  4. Rebellious Arab Girl Says:

a lot of people are like that.. they can’t find the humour in things and take things seriously.

  5. Hasan.B Says:

    “it all comes in steps”

  6. Joel Says:

It’s a whole way of getting famous. There are lot of religious fanatics on various religion and I believe no religion sort to extremism.

Our sub-conscious will direct us for which we need strong understanding and faith.

    Interesting post :)

  7. DA Says:

Totally agree with you,. You might have seen that I posted an article yesterday about a particular religious sect. Because I do believe its important to set the record straight when wrong information is posted and pasted around the media as facts. This normally leads to tensions in the society. And given the state of affairs around the World, we can live with one less tension any given day.

    -Cheers-

heyyy laish imbawza…i know what your saying is the epitome of sense, but sometimes the act of trying is a little too much, madre laish walla but it is, like with praying, i tell people I FEEL NOTHING while i pray which ends up making me feel awful but they always say try, and it’ll come to u, but sadly im not convinced

as for the the doomsday is coming cover us asses theory ur all going to hell, i think they should stop! they make is sound so terribly scary that it loses its reality feeling thing, it always seems like a scene from lord of the rings!! i mean sure we should all be working for that day when God will you know, but come on 3ad! u cnt convince people by scaring them!

    and dnt over-religous-ize everything

i too hate commenting on religous/religion posts but madre urs is different

  9. princess Says:

ok fe a million grammer spelling mistakes but yalla hehe shit happens and hi!

  10. Blue Dress Says:

Exactly i love balance but take time to achieve…

ama 3al bad image i remembered this saying that everyone keeps saying ” al isalm mo3amalah”
ya3ni its very important that people dont take hal jomlah for granted.
so next time some one says that to you maybe you should remind them.

  11. Amu Says:

Interesting post!! I don’t comment on religious posts but you have point and i agree with you.

  12. Hasan.B Says:

Ola! Where did all my comment go!

  13. Chikapappi Says:

Hassan I only got that from you!

  14. bambam Says:

“rational explanations” & “religion” I certainly would love to hear how you make the impossible possible LMAO
as for the answer to the why part, its just normal religious stuff that religions do, they make perfectly rational people do extremely irrational feats under the pretense of belief

  15. Chikapappi Says:

    - Spikey: That’s called being biased & with narrow thinking.. u’re right..

    - asoom: Am not saying that religion is out of my daily life bas I know that there are some things that I can’t tolerate & I just have to respect others…

    - Hani: am not a me3za to be lead.. we were blessed with our minds, we have to use it THE RIGHT WAY :)

    - Mona: I know – which is not nice because they miss out on lotsa things..

    - Hasan B.: Yes I feel that if a person is not a true believer – he / she should take it step by step because it may be harder for them to take it…

    - Joel: thanks dude :) I know – faith guides us all, bas we humans tend to take different paths..

    - DA: Cheers bro :) I love your posts ..

    - Princess: Diwmit! Mafe mistakes! LOL! :P – mine is different because am not attacking anyone & am trying to make people understand… I know no matter what I tell you, you won’t be convinced bas try :)

    - Bello: Yes I know – it’s manners which lots of people lack now a days..

    - AMU: thanks dude :)

    - Bambam: LOL! What comment! :$ – ok, FYI every thing in religion makes sense, even if we don’t get it now… as for those rational people who are lead by others – do you think they are rational if they act like sheep!?

  16. bambam Says:

lovely ! so ur ok with having ur husband have sex with the slave harim that he has…..
or even better since ur a girl you are officially lacking in both religious piety and intelligence so no wonder that everything makes sense :D
hmm but thats just islam, and thats just a couple of very rational things that come to mind, but then again am not supposed to understand why its ok for me to take up a slave maybe i’ll figure it out later on in life.
Hmm i kinda don’t see how that helps the argument, nope i don’t think they are rational how can they be for they follow whatever the imam thinks is good

  17. Chikapappi Says:

Ok, here’s what I think since you kinda called me stupid – I think arguing or replying to someone like you is a waste of time you jerk! You’re one demented person you know! WTH! & you dimwit, I just said that in one of my replies to the comments !

  18. howahkan Says:

There will always be a difficulty in balancing inclusion and shared values with respect for different faiths, cultures and beliefs. Reason being that the society we live in, faith is both a fact of cultural life and a necessary part of education and decision making. Therefore, to someone like me, it’s quite difficult sometimes to understand why some issues are taken out of context and religious scrutiny is always expressed. You try to be tolerant and open-minded with their views but eventually your patience fades out :/

  19. 'GreY' Says:

    A+

    no comments … ! :P

  20. Perfectionist Says:

That’s why I don’t talk about religion anymore. Even between my friends. They’re like, “Eee 9a7 kalamich” w blah blah. Ba3dain, “Ambaih sema3tay shino galaat?”

Mara wa7da yaat ib wayhi, I was talking about Atheism, she said, “Are you an atheist? 5afay rabich.”

Kila yefasron your open-mindness ib shay ’3ala6. Seriously. Bs I agree with everything you said completely.

  21. bambam Says:

lol sorry i think i was a bit too harsh there but then again i was paraphrasing a religious text “2almar2a naqisato 3aqlee wal deen”
which translates to women are lacking in their religion and intellects which makes sense …..

either way i would have been a lot nicer if you just didn’t put the rational and religion words together ….

  22. Chikapappi Says:

Bambam! La2 you gotta be serious! DUHHHHHHHHH!!! When you say that phrase, it doesn’t mean women are stupid or they don’t know how to discuss religion! HOLLY SHIT! Beddy akfor mennak!

It doesn’t make us “less sensed” in religion! It only means that there are some situations where we as women tend to use emotions fa our testimonies – decisions gotta be monitored – verified by the man. Also in judicial matters… this doesn’t make a woman less smart or rational than a man – there’s no difference between us dude! Am more man than you! LOL!

P.S: you have to always be nice with ChikaP.! Comprendo amigo!

  23. bambam Says:

hey whatever floats ur boat, if u consider these things as rational statements.
what i don’t get is that while in one case you got pissed off and cursed at me for saying the same exact thing that i said the second time around except that it was tagged with its Arabic version !
a rational statement should deserve the same reaction regardless of who said it since it has the same message ?! so that makes that statement irrational right ??
since u mentioned another case, so you are telling me that there are not men more emotional that some women and men in general tend to be more honest in their testimonies so thats why you need two women to testify instead of one ??
even after all that, and admitting that ur half the man i am :P you go and say there is no difference between us, and even after that u say you are worth more men than me ……

AH….. Capice i think i got it now
ps. I love how it pacifies the argument when u attach a figure of authority to the statement

  24. Chikapappi Says:

oh God!!! *reads comment – ignores*

  25. bambam Says:

    Yatta ! i wasn’t totally ignored ……yeeeeeeeSSS
    *katching* one point me

  26. Chikapappi Says:

    kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakh!

  27. Chikapappi Says:

    - Howakan: Yeah, it’s exactly what some people are doing to me right now!

    - Grey: :P

    - Perfecty: Yes ignore better :)

  28. Mass Says:

you know I use to go to this class called jihad and terrorism in university,, 20 were americans only 5 were arab…
and some of these americans were zionist jews, some were conservative evangelicals,, i had a beard bigger than a fist and use to go with a short diashdasha,,

they freaked out,, at first,, next thing you know girls thought i was some exotic middle eastern desert man. and the professor was telling me hey the girls are hitting on you..

I never was appologetic and i was consistant with my beleifs.. and thats why i got respect,, coz those who kiss up eventually their flaws show and the hypocrisy is revealed…

even though i heavly disagreed with them in many things,, they still liked me,,

there is always room for Islam in everything,, if some one get botherd if they are doing something wrong then they should,, its only bothering that some one reminds them,, hey its baaad so they put the blame on the way the other points out that wrong to cover up for their own faults instead of taking a step back and reflecting on their own actions and judge themselves with sincerity…

no one is perfect,, of course,, but justifying sins aint good either,, being weak sometimes is ok too and natural,, but if one doesnt give deen space in everything they do then eventually they will ignore it…

    ahh too much talk

  29. Chikapappi Says:

You know that you make sense to me BAS don’t you still joke around?! Since they call you a “hippie” don’t you think that a hippie is some dimwit who smokes pot & get high!? doesn’t that offend you as a Muslim? get my point – TASAMO7! o linience… this is what am saying- no need to be uptight with everything, that’s what people will respect
