On Hejab..
I listened to an “interesting” discussion on Hejab & covered girls now… I don’ wanna go into details bas main point was that the methajbat are dressing up in a “fashionable” way to get attention making them even “more attractive” (I put these words between quotes for you to get imaginative with the meanings behind them) & land men…
Hejab is a religious obligation; it’s in Quran bas to put it on is a personal choice. It’s not a measurement for knowing how good or bad a girl is!
Modern Hejab, Fashion statement that people make fun off or something that should be respected?!
I find it so hard when people tell me what to dress or not, being a methajba does not stop me from being ME, pants or capris! Dresses or those funky gypsy skirts.. A girl can look decent YET very very stylish…. What is your say on that?!
If I get dressed & hit the streets, does that mean am looking for men!? Can’t I do that for ME ME ME!? When do boys step over their limits while interpreting things there own way !? :P

Being Mu7ajab, doesn’t prevent me for wearing anything I want. On the other hand, a girl is a girl, it doesn’t matter is she was wearing the scarf or not, she wants to look good all the time, but there is line between being stylish and elegant and being flashy and over the top. Some wohajabat can be disrespectful sometimes, and I think if you want show a strand of hair, a little pit of your neck or your gorgeous ear, there is no need to wear the hijab, Take it off , because you are not wearing properly.
Be stylish and be youself, if you are decent, there is no need to worry. ^_^,

When elegance and respect are an internal factor of who you are, then you will always look elegant and respectable on the outside accordingly whether you are sufoor, mit7ajba, wearing the 3abaya aw mitnagba.

i don’t think it’s “fashionable” met7ajbat that want attention, it’s more like the ones who dress like they’re censored non met7ajbat. ya3ny every inch is covered bs yaya labsa leggings and a long sleeved top thats below her butt – wth?

“If I get dressed & hit the streets, does that mean am looking for men!?”
Well to most guys (unfortunatly) being out alone or with young women only means you’re looking. Dressed or undressed. I mean under-dressed. :|

“Hejab” or no “Hejab”? this is the question :)
October 21st, 2007 at
Hejab or no Hejab, doesn’t matter. A girl who is out hunting is out hunting and it is obvious. If she is out being her self and having fun, then there is frankly no problem except people who interpret anything form a girl as a sign that she wants him. People here have a weird attitude problem. Just my 2 cents.

sweety if some loser guy wants to think that we actually put an effort to land one of em creatures first say HAHAHAHAHa
and second let them think what they want to think
cause the only one im interested in pleasing is god, then my self :)

Hejab wearing it or not wearing it depends on the intention. Whether it is worn stylishly is based on personal taste. I don’t think the two are related in any way, but people like to relate unrelated things (I do that too sometimes.. ;/)

Bad or Good based on Hijab is the silliest way to convince a girl to wear Hijab.
I like taking it by forgetting about the social aspect of it but not the identity and who said a Muslim girl cannot be bad? or even evil driven girl.
On the contrary, it doesn’t mean you are bad if you are not wearing Hijab, you could be great women and not wearing Hijab but you will not have the Muslim girl identity and that DOES NOT mean you are not Muslim anymore.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of any girl wanting to dress fashionably. The bigger problem that girls from conservative societies have – m7ajibat or not – is that fashion itself can sometimes be more about seduction than elegance. For example, sometimes miniskirts are “in” – are m7ajibat/nonm7ajibat going to start wearing miniskirts so that they can follow the global fashion industry? Or are they going to be viewed as old fashioned if they don’t wear them? No. Take what we can and drop the “too much” part in fashion trends. The thing is, what I sometimes notice with some m7ajibat & non-m7ajibat is that they look like the WHOLE POINT of their outfit is seduction rather than sophistication. And you can definitely be elegant without looking like you want guys to focus on certain parts of your body.

Well the main religious reason for this I THINK is that turning men on is 7aram, coz it’s dirty and leads to nasty stuff happening to the man himself alone in most cases like looking for sex in the wrong places, and when a woman gets really OLD she can I THINK take off her 7jab, but out of respect women just keep it…Anyway 7jab or not, a lady should look decent and fashionable but not slutty to the extreme, it’s a fact in ALLL cultures…simple

1- THE CONVERTIBLE MICKY MOUSE HIJAB ( quoted )
2- the HUGE KUBBA GO6Y ROOB HIJAB ( amy winehouse head )
3-the dangling earing hijab
4- the terrifying horrifying SHOKING leggingS
5- the DEVILISH eyebrows or what sara said :P

Lol, we talked about this yesterday.. and you know what I think of it.. it’s all about the way the girl who’s getting dressed thinks.. if she has a great sense of style and at the same time remembers that a girl who wears a hjab should be reasonable covered up, then it all works… or if some chick thinks that she can show off her ass but wear hjab then she has no idea how to dress up with the hjab involved..
My rule is don’t wear short tops and show off ur bum or long pants/skirts and mop the sidewalk AND street with u at the same time, and at the same time don’t wear really tight jeans & tops so people see the outline of ur bra or really huge clothes that make u look like a convertable tent lol
in short, everything moderate is good.

1001 Kuwaiti Nights Girl, problem is with the society who just blindly imitate what they see! Miniskirts?! Don’t they already do that bas add a legging below!! Even for met7ajbat! I hate how people are brainwashed & no, not following the crowd when it comes to fashion is not a crime & certainly not old fashioned!
- hammoodee Yes yes Hammoodee (nice name by the way) :P – decent is the answer bas even that don’t help girls & keep them safe from guys! :/ I was shoved the other day at the Avenues!!!!! WHY!? I don’ know! Maskhara!

just found out to get that conehead look they use a small nido milk can can under the hijab as for your subject matter, dress accordingly and to what your tastes are be it fashionable or not.
On the other hand hijab or no hijab if what your wearing screams out I’m a nasty hoe chances are people would think you are…

hmm, good point.. I don’t think this has to do with landing a man. I think girls are just being girls they like to dress up, you know EVERYWHERE in the world..
But, I think some girls are dressing up in Hijab in an unapropriate way, not that I think they want to land men BUT the way they do it, is attractive and Hijab is supposed to cover, not show off TOO much. I do dress up but I have my limits.
But hey, I am not judging anyone, it’s a free country lol!
