That sony is NOT what you need! I tried it for a short while…it’s a gimmik that’s not all what it’s cracked up to be.
You’re better off with a small machine, 13″ or something..there’s a Fujitsu-Siemens (AMILO Pro series) that i bought a couple of months ago from Alghanim electronics. It has all you need plus a little extra, and at KD330 it was a bargain!
If you want blingage, get one of the new Macs…otherwise, a PC-based machine is what you will “use”, as opposed to “what you want others to see you using”….that’s all I have to say!

My dad bought that Sony just for the fun of it and the fact that he liked how small it was, so it’s easy to handle when traveling. Yet, the negative side of it is that the screen is too small! its bulky and the keys are tiny..I just thought it was a waste but if you have money to spare and just want a cool eye turning gadget then Sony is your best bet..But, if i was you, I would spend my money on this HP laptop :) I have a friend who has recently purchased one and he loves it! The twsiting of screen is kinda cool and maybe this is much safer for you blogging in the car ;)

What about price? Last I checked, they cost just as much as high-end laptops.

I’m not qualified to recommend anything, but it is cute :D

I don’t know about Sony I don’t like their PCs much. I prefer DELL and GATEWAY. I find that Sony’s battery wears off quickly.. hmm, maybe it changed now I haven’t tried them for a long time! and if you want something small, then I have no idea..

That’s actually very cool! If you think it would be enough for you then sure, why not!

I played with both, and I think the x61 is way better. Mac is for sissies, but yeah. It does the job these days.
The Vaio UMPC has a horrible keyboard, and feels weird in your hands.
X61 has a good battery life, doubles as a tablet, plenty of hard disk space, memory, yada yada and features, has thump-print scanner for secured access and tons o other cool features.
But listen, X61 and this UMPC are apples and oranges they’re two different classes. What “exactly” are you looking for?

You blog while driving :S
It all come down to what you need it for. The first one is more of cute than useful just judging from the pic :P

it depends, how much are they?
October 31st, 2007 at
Hmm… I just want to be tiny in size, I carry big bags so it fits in :) - I need wifi of course! I need big capacity.. I need to be ok, when it comes to price of course!! I would go for the “cute” bas people at work said it ain’t that good :/
I dunno about the prices yet.. I am asking now

THe best Laptop I EVER used in my life was from an obscure company called AveraTech. They make these RIDICULOUSLY small Laptops. Easy on the budget too! I keep one in my car because (yep, I blog while driving) or stream my favorite radio station from anywhere in the world
It has a decent battery life (>5hrs) and a great keyboard!
It’s becoming a little bit old but it fits the job perfectly.
I doubt there’s a single laptop being sold today that doesn’t have built in Wifi ABGN but it doesn’t hurt to make sure they do. Additionally, Try to make sure they have Bluetooth2.0
May I suggest one of these:
Oqo
or
Fujitsu (only 300kd)

I was away for a while, otherwise I would of been all over this. Get a ThinkPad! The sony is too small, keyboard is uncomfortable and the screen strains your eyes. I highly recommend the X series, especially for you. It doesn’t have a built in cd drive but that’s a sacrifice to get an even lighter laptop with a full size keyboard. I swear, this is more comfortable than a desktop’s keyboard.
I would recommend either the X61 or X60s, I got both. You’ve seen my review on the X61 right? The X60s is lighter, brighter, longer battery with an ultra low voltage processor and comes with windows XP. Available from amazon.com for almost 280KD without the dock and cd drive, sold in Kuwait for 575KD! I live without them.
The X61 is more powerful with upto 2.2 of the latest core 2 duo santa rosa chips. Also available on amazon.com, starting at 1300$. With the 8 cell battery you can easily last a long flight without charge.
Oh, and not all Lenovos are thinkpads!
The X61 is stronger
