Hejab or no Hejab!

cover.jpg
Isn’t it funny that throughout my entire teens & early 20s, when I was not wearing the hejab, I didn’t get as much compliments as I do now with it on!!

What is irritating is that after 5 years of being covered, some people still come up to me & say: “Take it off, you look way better without it” !!!

Hmm, I am not sure what that means! Does Hejab make me look dumb in any way?! Does it make me less attractive! I doooon’t think so!! It’s not the looks that matter of course bas why would someone say that! It’s depressing actually – on one hand, there are the compliments from people who get to see the me with the hair & the detest I generate when they diss my hejab on the other!

I dunno… very weird!! Of course, for the title; It’s never a question in mind! It’s Hejab for sure!!

I find it insulting to say such thing to mohjabah. Our Prophet PBUH said : ‘either we say something good or we remain silent’.

  2. Chikapappi Says:

I know it’s very insulting!! bas people now are weird! nothing else I can say about that!

  3. Hasan.B Says:

Of course woman look better without hejab, that does not mean they have to take it off!

  4. Rebellious Arab Girl Says:

That’s insulting if someone told you to take it off because you look better. That’s horrible. Did you smack them back?

Plus you look gorgeous with hijab.

  5. the simper Says:

to me the questions are, why hejab? and what is exactly hejab :)?

  6. Chikapappi Says:

Well, not the conehead – the squared head hejab for sure! Why?! I dunno, check with “higher authorities” :P

  7. Amethyst Says:

People who come up to you and tell you to take it off should mind their own business:)

  8. 'GreY' Says:

    .. .. .. .. .. .. .. left some footprints for you ! :P

  9. Jad Says:

You should have posted a with and a without portrait so we could give a feedback.
Anyway, Hijab will always be an absorbing object.

  10. Chikapappi Says:

LOL! enta hoon?! Well, yeah sure why not! Hehehee!!

  11. :::Shayouma::: Says:

LoL sure women look better without it BUT it doesn’t mean we look ugly in it or that we have to take it off!! Don’t bother with them yaar! LoL

  12. Cat Says:

Your Hejab is your business, I mean it’s a personal option. people shall not question you about getting it off! shako ohma! bs the Hejab will never make any one look less attractive! :)

  13. Yara Says:

If u have a precious jewel/gem what would u do with it? Hide it, take care of it, keep it safe away… Fa ma balich if u have a jewel Chika’s size :)

  14. abdvllah Says:

Each has it’s own attractions, my personal preference is with out hijab though.

In any case, if you look without hijab like the pic.. I say keep it on XP

  15. Chikapappi Says:

*sharpening her knife* for AbdullahYara, you’re soooooooo sweet :* – *hugs Yara*

  16. Three Says:

Telling you that you look better without the Hijab shouldn’t be insulting, I thought the whole point of Hijab was to cover your hair and your body so as to prevent il fitneh. You shouldn’t look attractive or sexy while wearing Hijab, while pretty, beautiful, moderate and cute are a different thing. Most people look better without their Hijabs on, that is a fact, and that fact serves the whole purpose of Hijab! Bil3aks you should consider it a compliment!

  17. Teddy Says:

Wearing a hijab is a personal issue. No one should make that decision other than the girl. If done by force, it may lead to unwanted consequences.

People are very wierd nowadays Chika, I agree.

  18. Stewie Says:

honestly, I’m not trying to offend anybody here but ..

I do respect girls with Hejab automatically ..
& I just feel bad with the uncovered girls

PS: sorry all hejabophobic girls for this fact .. most of us guys do! it is a FACT!

  19. Khawaja M. Says:

    God bless you :)

I really hate to know that someone took off her Hijab .. I do urge you to be confident with your choice… and never respond to them.

BTW, Hijab is a way of living, not just a scarf.

  20. pearls Says:

    it’s very insulting.

  21. Zed Says:

i never wouldve guessed you were one of “them”, it doesn’t show from your blog that you are a vealed woman, not that its suppose to show

a personal quations if you dont mind, why do you wear it? all religious reasons?

  22. Blue Dress Says:

    I think both are okay.

  23. kinzi Says:

Your beauty isn’t hidden by your hejab, Chicka. Your face is alive and sparkles apart from your hair showing. That is true beauty, radiating from within.

Maybe tell them theirs would be enhanced by WEARING it!

Stewie, from an uncovered woman who has no hejab-phobias, it would be nice to hear you just respect all women until they have given you a reason not to.

  24. MSB Says:

depends on your definition of beauty.. i find some met7ajbas look way better with the 7ejab as they have this different “air” about them..

someone once told me the same thing.. to take it off and i look better without it.. my response to him was “the day i wear it for you, you can voice your opinion.”

  25. Zia Says:

one of my friends is lebanese and wore 7jab in her 20′s too.. she gets really annoyed when people say things like you look better without it.. she thinks it’s SO disrespectful.. allah iya2jrich inshallah :)

  26. Perfecty Says:

Malich she’3el fehom. You’re beautiful in either ways.

  27. Zabo0o6a Says:

    ” la 6a3a ley ma5lo0g fee ma39eyat el5alg”
to be honest with you i had my hijab on since i was 11 , i’m still happy about it and i know that i get to0 much attention rather than my un mohajabat friends which made them conviced and put it on as well ;)

  28. Some_Guy Says:

first of all when i was younger i always prefered the uncovered girls…including a my future wife..

year ago i started to change my way of thinking.maybe getting more religious..i do not care anymore specially if trully loved the girl…

one thing i need to say…it’s amailzing, the interaction between your face and your inside…for me..it doesn’t even make me think whether you put hijab or not…
    i deeply like you.

  29. Fonzy Says:

hijab or no hijab… it depends what u prefer…. personally, i am against it and pls dont take it as an insult… doesnt mean am against people who wear it… each person has his/her ways of thinking so if u r convinced by it, then keep it on….. but i can tell u one thing… it ruins the hair in the long run :P my cousins told me so and let me add, they look beautiful with the hijab

  30. abdvllah Says:

    Stewie,
It’s not applicable on everyone, so it’s not a fact.

    Some_guy,
You should get out more dude.

  31. Some_Guy Says:

    Stewie,
    each word i said..was for chikipappi :)

  32. Linda Says:

Stewie – now y would anyone say they “feel sorry” for girls without hijab on?theyre not out there to be pitied…each person has their own preference whether they want to have it on or not..and im sure not every guy looks at a girl with hijab and respects her while lookin at another whos not and feelin sorry for her..its how the person carries themselves…im sorry i dunno y i found ur comment offensive (not that i wana create problems here;))

Im not covered and i dont like it when people tell me “why dont u put it on” just as u dont like it when ppl tell u “take it off” — i completely agree with u on that point sweetie it is insulting to some degree..its the concept bout questioning ur choice..ignore them hun and keep up the hyper-ness :)
