I’ve been quiet those last coupla days just thinking of this issue that a fellow bloggerette posted about. Her post pissed me off, not from her but from those heinous comments that she mentioned in her post.
I chose to write after Speedo & Swair because in such a community we shouldn’t tolerate such ignorance YES ignorance!
If we were in the States or even any other Muslim country I would have let that pass (as dumb and hypocritical that sounds) but this one just hit a nerve. I know I will get shit from some people out there but I seriously have to let this off my chest because it’s killing me.
Now, being an expat ! a foreigner a non Kuwaiti I would get how some people look down on us till now and after all of the boom this country went through, I mean till now some dickhead would say: you are eating our halal get out OR !you are wafdeen, you ain’t got rights Okkkkkk! Thanks for reminding me of that, someone who was born here, raised here, studied here, working here, will end up buried here enshallah and get this NEVER BEEN TO MY HOMETOWN! So I know where HOME is to me! I respect the law here & I understand how things go and we don’t mind it because 7amdellah we are in a country we are bestowed everything Go check how people in Africa live! Or other Arab countries at least.. so I don’t have anything against it and even if I DO, I just shut up! Zip it! Shut my bloody hole up!
Now, for citizens to go against each other, THAT I CAN’T TOLERATE! What the hell happened to unity!? What the hell happened to sticking with each other for the better of this country!? Why go rabid!!
It’s funny how ONE PHRASE brings out the worst in people! I mean, my jaw dropped reading stuff! I do agree that people have their right to express their thoughts but be a bit compassionate when it comes to others’ feelings! Damnit!
I’ve never had these issues in mind although sometimes I do use some terms that indicate racism like when I say Ma9arwa ( Egyptians) or when I talk to Anil and he (an Indian) sez those Indians act like Mafia!! So you see we all take it nice and easy.
In whose dictionary does BLOGGING mean Personal wars & vendettas!!
2 things I want to say:
1. Choose what you say carefully when you want to comment or post (in this case, the original blogger who posted is innocent from all the comments because the dude is terrific & is a sweetheart), so those of you commenting should leave your “personal” views aside and not take it that deep.
2. For those of you offended, take it as an experience, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, so just stick to what you’re doing and IGNORE! Blogging also is not about only making friends, you are bound to stumble across enemies or haters.

I suffer from this problem every day from people who are not even Palestenian attacking me! Oh my god.. why are Arabs like this.. and when they go outside their Arab world, they call everyone else racist and westerner who does not understand them. And all they do is attack one another.
December 22nd, 2007 at

just ask this person one question.
would you hold a gun LIKE A MAN and stand in front of an invasion ?? and defend your country ??
or would you chicken out and say ..

“ya 7aif 3ala el reyayeeel”
this country belongs to whom ever does there best to evolve it and turn it into a wonderful place for all humans to live in peace ..

Well I tend to be emotional and yes I may be taking this overboard bas that’s to do one thing: HAVE PEOPLE RESPECT EACH OTHER… I don’t like many bloggers & bloggerettes out there nor do I approve of their life style / posts but I don’t go around bashing them or their culture – religious background , it’s not very “manly” or in our case, females- mannerly to do so… essence of “decent” blogging is lost then..
December 23rd, 2007 at
Look what you started, Qatwoooo :P
I totally agree. It’s even worse when Kuwaitis are against each other. I swear they’re so stupid, we’re a million oo chethee, 3ayal what will happen when we’re 10 million!

December 23rd, 2007 at
Well, according to N. I like to fight :P Let’s do this, no one is stupid.. we misinterpret things .. this is when we clash! how about that?!
December 23rd, 2007 at
So basically, you want a perfect society where everybody is equal and happy? And citizens are nice to foreigners? And citizens are nice to each other? You want mutual respect between all god’s creatures?
And you want the Arab world to unite? Also, you want to eliminate anger from a discussion when opinions clash and people get emotional? Free Palestine too?
Give me whatever the hell you smoked! You’re Kuwait’s first hippie!

Racism in Kuwait has a whole lot of meaning in it. I find it comfortable hanging around with non-racist to avoid it.
December 23rd, 2007 at
LOL Suspic, do you think that’s hard to have or ask for?! ;)
December 23rd, 2007 at
Unfortunately, being a racist is part of our human nature. It’s ingrained into everyone on being a racist. Even Indians are racists of their own people, let alone Egyptians & ‘sa3ayda’ etc..etc..
It’ll never end. But those who instigate such trouble by their ignorance, are simply ignorant hypocrites.
If it wasn’t for the Egyptians, then Kuwait wouldn’t have it’s constitution & courts. If it wasn’t for the Indians & Pakistanis, then our initial infrastructure would’ve never been built…and so on.

Puh, for a second I thought you were pissed about my “female in Kuwait” post, but I got almost no comments, so that couldn’t be it and I kept reading more relaxed ;)
One slips very easy into saying things in general, I had a heated argument once because I said “Koreans” in general, but meant only a few in the region where I lived in.
When writing something it is easy for your hands to type faster than your brain works and sometimes things slip that I didn’t mean the way the come out.
But I always am open for criticism and try to correct mistakes.
It is sad that in our days today racism still exists. We should work on trying to stay all alive and get the planet to survive the havoc that we caused. Instead our wonderful leaders just think of the next war they could rage and some stupid dickheads blow each other up :(
And bloggers waste their time in kicking each other out of the same stupid reasons.
Rebellious Arab girl just hit a nerve with her statement. ;)
I have a post somewhere on my old blog about being tired of trying to dress the right way in this country when a) it doesn’t matter, many men still stare and are rude and b) why should I, when so many people don’t treat the country where I come from with the same respect? No, I don’t want women to wear a Bikini :)
But I mean, many Muslims in Germany behave there the same way as over here, yet, I have to twist myself…. doesn’t seem fair to me. But that’s another can of worms ;)
December 23rd, 2007 at
why do people think they’re better than others, wallah ana bdowi wella ana 7theri wella ana 3eemi, people get a life, i dont care what or how u r as long as ur nice and debatable ;p thanks for the hot topic ;)

One word: Ketchup
December 23rd, 2007 at
there will never be peace part of human nature just except it :P
December 23rd, 2007 at
ee wallah ur right. Even I do that sometimes. I try to be as non-racist as I can, but i still say “hnood” or “ma9arwa” and i still dislike specific countries and sometimes generalize about them.
I hope we can all learn to stop using words like that, and instead embrace equality..

…… … i didnt read ! just passed bye !
December 24th, 2007 at
i agree… lots of those racist idiots out there…. but though they are many, they r still a minority… but whether u like it or not, born here or not, lived here or not, die here or not, it may seem like home to many expats but the fact is… it isnt! We r here cos our home countries could not offer us the comfortable lives we have here, and unless they do… we r staying right here and have to accept things the way they are. Am not complaining, I am very content with the way things are and love this country but one thing is for sure is that I wont think twice of moving back to my country once the opportunity is there.
December 24th, 2007 at
so just ignore those racist comments, ur better off ;)
