Retail Outlets in Kuwait

Let me use the previous post as an introduction to this one…

So we established the fact that some men are dumb right! good! Now, for all of us living in Kuwait shopping is a bliss! I mean we got all these malls with the fancy retail outlets that fit all budgets and walking around the country, you’d find most people are so into fashion and beyond to some bas to sum up, yup most of are hip and cool :$

Now, Let me just bring to your attention this next matter: It’s a fact that ladies fashion & shops overtake those of men (tsk tsk tsk, poor things). Walking into ladies shops you’d find those young sales “men”, some outlets hand pick these guys as part of their sales targets and objectives while others simply need employees, I do not want to talk about the later because some individuals really do need the money, haven’t had the luck nor the opportunity to land a better career and yes most of them are decent..

My focus on them “handpicked” boys. Most of us girls walk into a shop, looking for something and we go around fine on our own. If we need to ask the salesman ok it’s fine. This goes on me too, I really like to wander around till I find what catches my eye and fancy a lot to buy and I really find it annoying to have someone walking behind me like my shadow or asking stupid questions. Am I overdoing it!? I do not think so! One would know if a guy really wants to help or he’s just being a dork. It’s like when I walk into a place and I am busy doing something and this guy stands there asking repeatedly” Can I help with anything??” so It’s “NO THANK YOU” that is enough… others go far like asking: “where are you from?” you know, the type that would get kind of personal and tell you the truth it is annoying.

It’s a ladies shop for God’s sake! What are men doing there!?? you know when you go to Zara, next to the lingerie section and want to pick up something but there’s a guy around the corner looking at you!! it gets uncomfortable sometimes..

Question is: Should we have salesmen in ladies retail outlets or not??

I would personally say no, especially not in makeup stores!!! But then again I would say Haram, they need to make money too :$

  14. Maya Says:

    Salesmen huh? Well, you have the homos and the hetros.

    //homos
    I hate it when they stare at me and look at me in ‘envy’. No, I’m not licking my own ass here but the comments they make gets annoying after sometime. Oh I hate it when they get all touchy wouchy and start feeling my stuff and asking me where I get them from. Oh and they also think that being all homo and stuff gives them the right to look at me in my lingerie when I call out to my sister/friends/mom for their (mom/sis/friends) advice! Oh and there are some who get all personal and lapse into self-pity and tell you about how difficult life is. All of this would apply to saleswomen too.

    //hetros
    They don’t annoy me unless they stare hard, wait for me outside the changing rooms, make stupid/cheesy comments, try to flirt/get my number, come up with sad stories about the gfs they lost to various cancers. Seriously.. the last one is rather frequent! They try to get your sympathy and pray they have a banging good time. WTF!

    There was this saleswomen though tho was really nice. She asked if she could help me once and when I declined nicely, she didn’t bother me unless I asked her. She was proactive and suggested she look at the back and get stuff. Cos I ended up getting a whole lot of clothes, she offered to let me use her employee discount thingy! I declined of course but she was nice!

    The truth is that Kuwaiti girls gave them the chance to be
    like that, i heard it so much from Lebanese guys (salesmen)
    that a Kuwaiti girls feel more free to talk with us and pick
    up clothes, so if the majority of Kuwaiti girls and women
    is like that, then you should know why they are nosy and
    act this way.
