   Quite productive, I’ll list the benefits:

   1- Decreases number of brain cells exponentially.

   2- Increase strength of tongue muscles. (i.e. you can lick a whole ice cream under a second.)

   3- Increases size of adoring, glassy-eyed, brain-dead entourage.

   4- Phone bills skyrocket phenomenally.

   5- IQ drops fantastically into the bottomless void.

   I say she has a point… If people know you’re talking about them, they make sure not to make any mistakes that could make them gum in your mouth…

   Don’t you make just a tiny little bit of effort if you know there are people who’re going to talk?

   in marketing they say bad publicity doesnt exist (take blech britney for example) its all good! i guess gossip is just the same.. it increases people’s popularity, nevermind if good or bady, and it brings people together sometimes! (i do not support it, just giving possible reasons behind bee’s comment =) )

    LOL! Some of the answers are funny however some of you really make a point; I mean it takes away the fun from some of those gossiping people and maybe their “popularity” since they think it’s the only way to keep people around them! Seriously, it does a lot of harm even if it “stating the truth – fact” as you say Skinny Bee.. No need to pass stuff, we have our load of crap and have had it!

    The only time I can think of gossip being productive is in the workplace, gossip being like gathering intelligence so you can get your proposal in front of the boss first, that kind of thing. Gossiping about people is forbidden! You can listen, but don’t DARE say a word, don’t even nod your head! And get away as fast as you can!
