Voluntary Manslaughter
Although we left the 3aza – mourning place hours ago; I am still so sad and very angry at the same time. No matter how you interpret or try to explain how grieving is kind of therapeutic, I still have this urging wish of magically taking pain away – let’s say, fix all the shit in this world so no one goes through agony…
A dear friend of ours, more like a sister now lost an aunt and has the other one in the hospital in critical condition because of an accident… You see, you read things in the newspaper and you sympathize with the families of those people but it’s different when it is someone you know in person is involved.. I lost a cousin because of reckless driving – he wasn’t even behind wheel but sadly he was torn to pieces because of the impact.. He was only 18!!
Let me go deeper… We all know that booze in this country is LEGAL, I mean we know that everybody here parties and gets drunk and I said it before, if you don’t care about religion or your lives up to you but at least have the decency to consider other peoples’ lives for god’s sake!
Three women on the street to the chalets were hit by a teenager who was not sober (what ever that means because it might either be drugs or alcohol); He hit their car killing two instantly and the third is still in the hospital not aware that her sister is dead… I wonder how this poor woman will feel waking up to such devastating news…
This woman and the one of those who passed away are sister, aunts of our friend….
I hate funerals.. I do not like death as most of the rest although of the morals we should get behind Allah’s plan for all of us on earth but it was heart breaking seeing the girls of the deceased.. There is nothing worse than suddenly losing a loved one and in such situations.. I mean the kid who is responsible for this deserves to die for taking away lives due to his careless behavior..
May they rest in peace and for your other aunt to get out of the hospital soon enshallah.. I am truly sorry for your loss

I totally agree with everything you said. I’m still at a loss of words that even if our friend wanted to talk, I can’t help but just be a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.
The only comfort I can find in this situation is that she knows we’re here for her and that we’re all praying for her aunt (Allah yer7amha) and praying for her other aunt to come out of hospital safe, sound and healing..

I’m sorry to hear that, I was named after my uncle who passed away the same way. He was hit by a drunk driver and I never got to meet the man I was named after. such is the way of the world

I cannot express my deep sadness to hear such news. Its true sadness, not just sympathy!
I am upset because an old good friend of mines dad passed away last week too. He flew to Dubai for his work after spending a vacation, 1 day later they called him to inform him his dad passed away.
May their souls rest in peace! AMEN!

Why cant they be responsible, is it to empress others, or is it to show someone that he can do anything like a sober person when he is under influence. The only people benefiting from the sale of alcohol are the importers who sell them for 1000% profit. The best way to solve the issues with alcoholism is to legalize it; that way strict penalties can be issued and enforced. Drunk driving in addition to being disorderly in public should equate to a fine, jail time and public humiliation.
