Sky high prices!
I heard them talking about the good prices going insanely high and I read it in some newspapers but I never thought I would get so agitated until I dropped by Surra Co-op today to buy some toiletries.
I was shocked to see the obvious lack of some products off the shelves and I ran around like a mad woman searching for what I need! I am used to Sultan Center and the “American” stuff that it totally pissed me off and I was cussing loudly and saying how terrible this jam3eya is.. I don’t usually check prices because I know the range of the stuff that I buy but I decided to do it this time and I was like OMG! PRICES ARE REALLY DIFFERENT! Maybe some would say it’s not that much but believe me every fils would count from now on!
I managed to find alternatives to the missing things that I need and I paid the KD 27 for crap and I asked the cashier: “Why does your jam3eya look like it’s about to close!” He replied because some manufacturers refuse the increase of prices and will not send goods in! eh!!!
What pisses me off is that for me (people of my standard) who make good amount of money are starting to complain, what about those who are not lucky enough with a decent job or even an educational degree to get a suitable job!!???
I mean for us “foreigners” who do not get a yearly salary increment it is gonna be kinda difficult thinking about best ways to bargain and wise methods to spend money…
Kuwaiti citizens too, although some were fortunate enough to get that raise from the government bas I really do not think it will make their financial decisions easier with that unbelievable rise of prices..
Ok, what about those who didn’t get the ta2menat money raise!???
I honestly believe that the world will suffer famine and goods will be “rare” and hard to find one day soon..

It is a global problem, not just in kuwait. This is happening in almost every other country you can think of. CNN spent a week just focusing on the issue. Especially about the increase of very important daily goods. As the german chancellor said: “Bad agricultural policies and changing eating habits in developing nations are primarily to blame for rising food prices”

The prices down here are unbelievable! I only one person, spending almost 400 to 500 dollars on foods and products. It’s freaking insane Chika!
And it’s world wide, because the dollar is down. every country world wide sells its goods by dollars, thats why they are more expensive nowadays

According to a friend, the U.S. economy is in danger of collapsing, it’s right on the edge.
We have a shortage in commodities worldwide, in some countries people are actually getting killed for a loaf of bread.
Inflation is killing economies and a lot of countries are struggling to cap this sudden surge.
Stock markets are so high they’re unbelievable, myself and others can actually see another collapse like that happened to the U.S. in the 1930’s, if nothing is done about it.
We can bake our own bread. And plant our own veggies.

There is always an aletrnative . like if you are buying KDD milk switch to Dana or even better mix water , this way it will last many days, Buy fairly instead of fairy ( or mix more water, again) … if nothing works , eat in ration, once in a day, this way one can diet and also save money…
One more thing…. Oh me God ! you dont get increment? ah tsk tslk !

Whats funny is, all Kuwaities are complaining from crazy price raise. Tell them their housemate or employee salary is 5 KD more and they go crazy, like those poor people are not living here as well :)

The prices have gone crazy high, especially the american toiletries!! I know that they are not THAT expensive!!!!!!!
The best way to do it is write down everything you buy for a whole month, and then at the end of the month look at where your money was spent the most, shoofay what you could let go of.

so true…its insane whats happening

learn to be frugal, theres some stuff you don’t really need or want but buy just for the sake of it cut those down. reminds me of the 2006 Christmas inflation of FFXI (online game) we started to trade since money had no value. but that only works if you have a shitload of money if not your screwed!

The problem with the raising of prices..has many aspects..
let take food for instance..
it is global … In the (dowal namiya), people are going away from farming..they are abused, they don’t make good money and they start prefering working in more safe jobs..farming is not easy..o y6ale3 shway floos..since ppl are leaving it..8a3da t8el el ma7a9eeel o el prices tzeeed..
other countries..
like Africa which our minds always connect it with a dry land..but u will be amazed that Africa is so rich wwith (anhar o meyah jawfya)..bs el moshkella they dont have floos to get that water out…o since mako water..mako food..
its somehow complicated…honestly..sa3at it is not the greed of the traders..sa3at it bcuz el shareka el om tzeed el as3ar bcuz of 8elat el ma9ader that makes the food…
So what we can do? the only things u can farm in kuwiat is gargeer o ba8dones lol :P since we are world no 1 country in water scarcity..
