Oh, I am so glad that I had this chat with a friend!! :D He just proved to me that men will never change! ok, I get it; we’ve all (most) been in some sort of relation and we come out of it with notions that are hard to budge or change but that doesn’t mean we stereotype ya jama3a!! otherwise, I’d go around making “oink” sounds whenever I see a guy! lol
To brief it up, I was cornered to give a name of my “boy friend” although I do not have one NOR do I ever intend to a9lan, so to fake it to the maximum, I didn’t hesitate and I was like “BADER” ! <-- don't ask why, it was the first name that came across my mind... then, I paused...
“Kuwaiti for sure… all you girls are materialistic” !! this was his reply!
ok, I argued back saying that first of all, although the name is khaleeji, doesn’t mean the guy is!! I know alot of people with weird names and no one thinks they are Kuwaiti wala khaleeji!
Secondly, I told him that not all Kuwaitis are rich (don’t think am being offensive) bas seriously, not all Kuwaitis have like 6 cars or live in a 3 floored villa with a pool and a chalet!
Thirdly and that’s what bugged me is that how people look at those cross cultural relations as taboo relations walla non Kuwaitis are gold diggers! ok ok, some women out there really make us look bad bas excuse me, we are not all the same!! ba3dein why do people make it sound like it’s beneficial!? Can’t two people from two different countries fall in love just for love! 7amdellah!

Kuwaiti girls materialistic..?!! you remind me when we first chatted on the net, and some times we joke around and use Girlish nickname in MIRC to see how guys act with girls online, guess what…most chat requests came from Lebanese and Egyptians, and at the end of the chat…we discovered that they think Kuwaiti girls spend money on foreigners as boyfriends or husbands because they treat them better than Kuwaiti guys.
As far as what this guy thinks, you should have told him that we have hundreds of great Kuwaiti girls who thank Allah for living a good life with decent income and good family life and never look up for more.
