7 Pounds: Movie Review

Extremely touched and still amazed by the ending of this movie; 7 Pounds is a beautifully written and directed movie! I mean really!

Will Smith is someone I never expected to see in such a role (mind you, I still didn’t watch the Pursuit of Happyness), very dramatic movie wrapped with vagueness and the whole plot falls in place at the end brilliantly and it will just keep you captivated. I do not want to spoil the movie but all I can only say is  “Redemption can never get any sweeter” ! Suh Weeet story unraveling slowly at the beginning (it will be slow but you will not stop watching I assure you) and towards the end, you’ll be on a roller coaster of emotions.

Brilliant!

Very good movie indeed, I am not really into drama movies but this one was different, the part that I liked the best about the movie is how everything gets connected at the end, even things that you didn’t think of like the fish tank in the motel room.

I really loved the role of the blind guy, very touching scene indeed, I never cried from watching a movie but this one was the closest that has made me feel like crying, but my little brother kept interrupting me specially in the very touchy ending scenes with his stupid comments about how unrealistic the story is.

So for those that haven’t watched it, watch it alone :D

  2. Chikapappi Says:

Are you kidding me! In the bathroom scene I was waiting for something gory – blood or something and then the you know what was used! I never expected that!! And it’s good to see men with affection ;p

  3. Nizar Says:

yeah, but as I remember it, that was a horrible difficult death that he decided to take so he won’t loose blood and destroy the or—-.

  4. Chikapappi Says:

I kind of knew from the beginning after the phone call that that was his plan but the means was unusual and the motive is so self-less! Now I won’t go during Summer to the you know what so I don’t have an encounter with the other you know what! After Jaws comes the “that” !

  5. Nizar Says:

True, but these don’t always exists in that, but occasionally they emerge gradually from them, unless they in a sense or another disappear due to shifts in the saltiness level, but then the other those migrate to the first thems, but anyway, it was a really good watch!

  6. Purgatory Says:

Its a very depressing movie, I did not like it, except for that scene with the car ;p

truly a brilliant film, completely worth watching, the plot fits together nicely… and will smith is one hell of an actor! you may need tissues by the end though :(

  18. kelli Says:

I juss finish watching 7 pounds for the 1st time. I cried @ the end and instantly it made me want to change my life. This movie has a lot of meaning and such definition to it…..open your mind and hearts…I believe tht the title 7 pounds means the seven ppl tht he killed n tht car accident. It felt like a burden to him….7 pounds of heartaches…

  19. liz Says:

This was a good movie…this movie is for those who actually have emotions and can relate to a sad, but inspiring life experiences.

  20. j Says:

7 lbs…remember the start of the movie! 7 days to create the world, 7 seconds to change his life. 7 people he helped with his “gifts” provided peace of mind. He just did not count on falling in love. The other side of “independence day” role…truly gifted.

  21. s Says:

7 pounds refers to the amount of of organs he donated…

  22. John Says:

I would guess to say that Seven Pounds has to do with the Shakespearean sense of a pound of flesh as being owed. The Merchant of Venice is a good place for you to look at. Maybe Will Smith’s character decided that he had a debt to pay for his taking the 7 lives and, in turn, owed each a pound of flesh. Harsh debt of course.

  23. Sylvia Says:

I agree with John, aug 11th. That was my interpretation before I read his.
    I counted 6 things he gave and can’t remember the 7th;
the lung to his brother, the liver to Holly, bone marrow to the young boy, eyes to Ezra, home to abused mom/kids; and his heart to the lovely girl. What was the 7th donation??? anyone?

  24. Cindy Says:

He gave his kidney to George the hockey coach

  25. Jodie Says:

One of the most amazing and touching movies I have ever seen. Anyone who cannot take something away with them after watching this movie , well I won’t say!! What an awe inspiring character Will Smith played. Watching this movie would probably help alot of people!!!!

  26. george tight Says:

get a life you morons. Seven Pounds is the laughing stock of movies in general. Whoever financed this movie should be locked in a jail cell with the 3 stooges for 300 years, only to be taken out and stung to death by a jellyfish.

  27. Ancelotti Says:

    Dear all,
did you recognize when watching this movie that the heading can be also defined when lokking at all organs: 1 Heart, 1 kidney, 1 lunge, bone marrow (max. 100 gr.), eyes…
When doing research it occured to me that alle those compound 6 pounds??? I therefore don’t agree with your statement of 7 pounds )looking at the medical side)!!!
I look forward to any responses concerningt the truth of the organs donated within this movie…
Furthermore, do you really think that in this movie 7 lives are saved?
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
    Greetings

  28. k Says:

and looking at the medical side I came up with the following…

    Liver- 4lbs 7oz
    Eyes – 2.5oz
    Lung – 28oz
    Heart – 9.7oz
    Kidney – 4.58oz
    Bone Marrow – guess 3.52oz (100g)
    Total – 7lbs 8.3oz

And they said it was a portion of the liver so we don’t actually know the exact weight of what he donated. Same with bone marrow.

I would say pretty damn close. Plus is it really necessary to over-analyze a movie
