I’m not a giiiirl, not yet a woman!

It’s so funny how we as females are programmed in this part of the world on being meticulous when it comes to personal hygiene and by that, I do not mean cleanliness because if a female is not clean by nature or smells like a dead skunk (which is really bad I assume) she’s to be blamed and I would personally volunteer to beat her up! By hygiene here I mean things we used to see our moms do as young girls at beauty salons and the temptation to try them out. I personally started coloring my hair since the tender age of 13 influenced by older ladies and how good they looked after drying and styling their hair. I was always bedazzled by waxing and eyebrow threading!! I sat there many times watching ladies come in and leave with puffed up irritated Red skin, some of them sounded like they were in excruciating pain but that was not a problem! A couple of years back I dropped by a salon in Jabreya and while I was waiting, I started to walk around the place and I went straight into the “Sheera” room – girls, pls explain to our male readers what that is – and the curtain was opened and I saw the unseen (shoft elly 3omry mashefto) !! :$ Women are not supposed to be naked in front of each other like that! It’s in islam ya jama3a – al 3awra! They sell wax wella sheera at co-ops just to give you some privacy & enable you do it yourself no matter how sissy you are, using “pain” as an excuse! Ok so the salon lady won’t hurt you?! و ما خفي أعظم
Last time I was at the salon, last week if I not mistaken I heard a voice of a young girl asking: “How much is the sheera?!” The salon lady replied KD 1 and the girl goes like “OK, I want”! I was thinking I have to see this cuz she sounds really young; well guess what!? She is no older than 10, she sat down on the chair and handed over her legs to the salon lady who mercilessly started removing hair with the nonstop pleading of that “innocent” girl to stop and when she couldn’t take it anymore she started crying! lol so it was “ay a7 AYYYY Bas pls – ay *cry*” ! At the beginning we all found it funny but when she started crying I screamed and said 7aram and believe me it’s not for the girl herself bas the concept- damn it, she’s only 10!! Why does she need to remove her hair?! It’s not like she has a career to pretty herself up for or a husband to keep around ;p but I don’t blame her, her mother left her unattended with a “house assistant” and I fear next time she will have a full body waxing session wella her eyebrows plucked or threaded! eh!
Whose mistake is this really?! You young mothers out there I ask you, would you like your girls to take your footsteps when it comes to what I’ve mentioned above? I mean would you encourage your girls to be hair free as young as they can start it so they’d get used to the idea? Or are you old fashioned and you only allow that when these girls are about to set foot into marriage?! I would like my baby girl to be clean like me but hell not wax or thread! The problem is the little girl I mentioned above goes like: “Khalas, I won’t do this even after I get married!” LOL I was like “WHAT 7abebti!” ! My god they understand everything! Young girls now have very distorted perceptions on beauty
On a totally different note; I came to know about the [ Salmiya Park ] project and man it’s huge! I wonder how it would be like after it’s done and officially up n’ running… I can list down my own wild guesses especially if compared to Salmiya Mall which is opposite to it!

Hilarious. I think I first got the concept of hair removal at 16, my mother has never done that stuff cuz she’s hairless except on her head and eyebrows (I am jealous aren’t you?). What was a 10 year old doing at the salon anyway?
I am hoping the Salmiya park turns out nicely because I live right across it and it would be a great outing for me and the little’un.

Another fascinating fact about woman, is that when you are young as in teen agers, you quickly wanna grow, you would want to fasten the process by dressing like mature woman, mini skirts, heals and put on make up to look older.
But THEN, we you are actually in your…40’s everything changes and NOW you would want anything to look younger, suddenly you don’t want to grow anymore, you wanna go back… Weird!
In regards to Salmiya park, I used to see the huge empty land when it was just empty and I used to say to my self, ‘Boy this is a huge land, something should be done here, but just one big thing’. Park is best, but the mall ruined it…

Salmiya PArk is going to Kill Marina Mall… We’re so screwed already Avenues has done enuff damage :(

شكراً عبد العزيز :)
- Grey: I dunno about Marina going down because of another mall, malls here loose glory because people just concentrate on them when they are newly opened and khalas you know.. you start seeing them young boys and girls and it becomes disgusting to consider just enjoying a decent cup of coffee – Marina I do not like at all and Avenues is nice when it’s empty or the new phase at least bas Salmiya Park I wonder how are they going to fix the parking lot especially putting in mind its location – the roundabout and traffic lights

If I ever had a girl I won’t let pluck her eyebrows until she turns 16, that is if she’s not too hairy lol ;) I might allow her to dye her at 18.

why all women think that they should do that, some of them are not really hairy and they still do it, never heard about bleaching the soft few hairs here and there?! unless it’s really ” min ommah 5ashin ” then that’s another story :)
بو سعيد فيك الخير، المهم المشاركة. مو داري شنو السالفة الله يهديك وتعتقد أنها صح؟
P.S. i heard years back that removing underarm hair with “sheera” will take weeks to come out again, so i thought what the heck, let me try it…from the first two puffs i said “STOP” if it comes out daily i will never think of doing it AGAIN. Allah ey5ali el “Gillette” :p

It is global men, women, girls, and even boys are going clean. Waxing became very popular for men in Kuwait ,and now the big news at least for me men are going for leaser. I already have checked with some clinics where they agree to remove hair for men’s nose, ear, arm bit legs, back, chest and eye brow but not privet area at this moment.
Hair removal became what, Sexy? Cleaner? Cool? Trend?
Ps check the trend of women’s 60’s 70’s and 80’s
