Souk Al Kabeer’s fire

One minute we were at our tables working, next the lights went off and we all gathered in the reception area, thinking that this was a maintenance procedure although I was really concerned for the servers (which are on UPS) thank God! If it wasn’t for the personal “chauffeur” we wouldn’t have known that the basement was on fire – by coincidence I swear! No fire alarms, BAM everything was off including the elevators – I hope no one is still trapped as they cannot do anything to the electricity at this point till they fix the problem and I will explain below:

When I found out the basement was on fire, I went running from the 7th floor + Mezzanine, Ground Floor to go outside and stand with the crowd waiting to know the destiny of our cars ;/

I tried to ask one of the firemen but they were busy trying to control what’s going on inside and the smoke was disgusting to inhale

So what happened is that KRC decided to do maintenance on the building’s electricity and we were informed that this will take place on the 13th + 14th but after midnight so IT are informed to make sure backup is up n’ running. The new company they contracted with came in and did the job (god knows why they shifted work from the old one) which obviously suck at their job because they left some loose cables which with the load started a fire in the electricity room in the basement… 6ab3an since they don’t know or even bother to know about security procedures, the room was flaming by the time the fire squad got to the building!

Next, the firemen (I was told this) decided to use WATER to put down an electricity fire! <– I even know that’s a NO NO ! Instead of using foam they used water and now, they have to wait till the water dries up to be able to walk in the room and fix what generated the fire….

1. Ya stupid Kuwait Real Estate Company!! Haven’t you heard of generators!!! 3ama!

2. WTF! No fire alarms or water sprinkles in the basements which are actually operational!?! WTF

3. Fix the F’in* staircase! For us ladies it was disgusting to run up and down the stairs to evacuate office or go up to get our stuff

4. Speaking of evacuation plans… WHY THE HELL ISN’T THERE ONE! Why were we not informed of this! We had to find out ourselves!

5. If something would’ve happened to our cars, walla I would sued your ugly bums and yes for cash ;p

Shame on you!
