As the first time, they are generous with their portion which got me running till around 9:30 PM. 2 major pet peeves and one pisses me off more than the other are:

1. Salad dressing portion.. In comparison to the size of the salad I think you guys could just have a bigger container with more dressing or just add 2 ! Unless we have to order extra?! @@

2. I complained from this the first time but you either gotta change the type of onion you use (Red ones) or do something about it! Rinse it after cutting! It’s too strong on my palate and a salad is not a salad unless it contains onions! what’s wrong with shallots – scallions or regular White onion?!  I am not sensitive to onion but I had to nod to people – avoid being too close because I don’t have a tooth brush – paste on me nor had I chewing gum! Reminds me of Ramadan .. he he he

Everything else was ok, I like how the salad was diced and it is clean (Although I didn’t inspect the lettuce as I do with other restaurants) I think I was really hungry to give a rat’s ass anyways !

I bet like a lot of you, I kept on receiving email shots on deals on Souq.com; Curious as I am- I decided to register and I actually scanned each section as well as items till I laid my eye on this product:

I decided to get out my purse, punch in my plastic’s number to purchase it for Alma since she’s been showing interest in holding the spoon and plate while feeding her and if you don’t know how this works, check the video [ HERE ]

Fine so far right?! Amount (KD 5 only) was deducted from my Visa and I sat there waiting for some sort of conformation via email or phone but nothing happened! Suddenly I received 3 different confirmation receipts with totally different numbers! @@ That’s’ when i started jumping in my seat and looked but a number to contact them. 22248700 was pathetic, no one picks up besides their IVR system which is badly recorded BTW! As far as other contacts I found that they have offices outside of Kuwait and that’s when my heart sank to my feet :I I was like this is a scam specially after using my credit card!

like half an hour after, phone rang and one of their agents confirmed my order and I asked: “When am I getting it?” He replied: “Today no, Friday Saturday vacation so 2 working days which means Monday”

Weekend passed by, Sunday went bye so did Monday! And I was home because of the flu so I was waiting for any sign! After giving up I sent this and I seriously meant every word and I was worried

I was so pissed off due to their negligence and disrespect to their own delivery policy

You see, it was my first time – probably the last time because of that PERSON who engaged with me on this email thread! I was going to do other purchases but I thought to myself when I secure this simple item and test their client servicing then I might go ahead and knock myself out online shopping. Of course in between those emails I was on the phone waiting for someone to answer!

In cold blood, this person sends me this as a reply! Not acceptable, WHY?

1. Greeting – whole email style is poor wala punctuation wala nothing!
2. When a client sends an email from the first time you answer on the spot.
3. You’re supposed to be professional not as casual with clients using slang “you gonna”! <– Yo Yo !
4. Your answer wasn’t helpful since I know it’s been confirmed DUH!
5. According to your delivery policy, my item should have been at my doorstep on Monday MAX. noon time and you dare even mention a Wednesday! @@
6. I freaking paid my money ahead not upon delivery so I get some priority!

I was raging after this so I started being rude!

Yes I called them thieves and as a bad desperate strategy I even lied! :@ When you promise your clients something better make sure you can fulfill it! I really ticked off by bad client servicing.

And you guessed it right! NO ONE CALLED OR EVEN BOTHERED!

KEEP the damn 5 KD but I won’t spare you my mouth! I actually replied saying “Go ahead, make my day and cancel the order”! <- I can’t find this email thread at all! :@

Hmmmm! My reply was long – honest and I basically told him -her that they can go ahead and blacklist me if they want because they’d be crazy to think I would do any business with them in the future especially with this type of replying! la2 o el “regards” is the best part of this reply!

And most importantly of course is the threatening! I might be one of the nicest “worst” clients they might ever have to handle and this is what they reply with!? tsk tsk tsk! I didn’t give a crap honestly after that instead, I asked Oleana for the same item and she told me that’s in her next shipment so I booked one.

Yesterday around 3esha prayer (I think) I got a phone call from an unsaved number and I usually don’t pick up but this time I did. Hi’s and Hello’s Guy introduces himself as Youssef from Souq.com @@ – Was very quiet and relaxed on the phone and he asked if I had ordered something! I was like “ana fashakht el bala6 eb your employee over emails” = I gave your guy a hard time for my order – and last thing I know that it got canceled!! he assured me that it wasn’t and I got to dish out on the whole incident. Like a decent professional gentleman he apologized on behalf of his colleagues and started explaining… Now, I told him I don’t buy this excuse at all but them being under pressure because of their iPhone – iPad deal is not my issue, all I wanted instead is a follow up email – call and I would have been quiet. Thanks Mr. Sha’arawi for the phone call and for tolerating me over the phone, I know you are trying to do your best. :)

You see, Since Pregnancy and needless to say akeed, every since delivery I have not been to the movie theater because of my sacrifice (LOL) and having no time for me and honestly speaking, we didn’t like what was showing so we opted to wait for [ Sherlock Holmes ] specially after the 1st part and I still remember how excited we were even after leaving the cinema. Since CinescapeQ8 have a Twitter account [ HERE ], I though I would ask because I was confused about the booking date. We wanted to go on a Friday and our booking was after 12 Am. They didn’t reply…

I dress up, take kid over to grandparents and ensure all house chores are done. At 11 PM, man & I head to the Avenue – I originally wanted to go to 360 but I swear to God I stayed on their stupid iPhone application more than 2 hours trying to book and it kept giving me an error message and I am stupid I didn’t snap that to keep as evidence! Even booking online was equally disgusting! 1. Couldn’t access my account!!! 2. Didn’t show vacant seats! So we ended up going to Mohallab to use the kiosk machine – ALSO SPENT LIKE 15 MINUTES because it just kept logging off! Let me stay on track here:

Again, 11 PM we head to the Avenue in spite the fact that we were an hour early but we wanted to avoid traffic, lines at their snacks bar  and most importantly be there first to watch the ads. After we bought everything I wanted to use the toilet before entering the movie and that security guy (Who happens to be Egyptian) advised us to wait… OK I WILL HOLD IT! After like half an hour I tell da man I need to go! I head towards the same guy and I go like: “3am, I really need to use the bathroom!” <– He looks at me, lets me in! ALTHOUGGGGGH we are god damn entitled to stay in the lobby – area if he takes the tickets! WTH! We pay so much for a censored movie and over priced snacks and we don’t get to use the lu! El mohem, I returned to the man and we saw the que forming to enter the movie so we stood. We are now like 5 seconds away for being allowed to go in the area in front of the movie hall and the man (The Egyptian dude) looks at the ticket and goes like: “El film etlaga” <– movie was canceled!! 55555 freaking minutes before it starts! So I looked at him and went like: “You knew it was canceled, why didn’t you inform us!” because it doesn’t make since that he was just informed, we didn’t see anyone coming out of the hall and the whole thing was full of contradictions! Man got pissed off and they were gonna fist fight :/ but people managed to pull them off. As advised by one of their security I dunno dudes in dishdasha, we head to client service guys and people were enraged! Everybody wanted to exchange or redeem money as the guy told us but since we don’t get to go out alone that much we decided to watch anything… Adam Sandler’s movie Jack & Jill: a complete waste of time, money and mental stability! yukh!

2 guys were covering the angry crowd and they had such an attitude man, only thing left for them to do is start swearing at people or beat them up! They were very rude especially the dark one! la2222 not that only! He shouted at a customer in front of us and as I asked him if he needed money from us he misheard me and told the other guy: “Ge6lehom flooshom” ! <– Throw their money at’em ! MF ! …… 3aleik bas it is our fault that we are decent with you! #Etfouh !

1. We came to know movie was canceled 15 minutes earlier and we were not informed.

2. Dishdasha guy said that KNCC sent emails apologizing for the inconvenience and informing people about the cancellation which never happened.

3. Dishdasha dude said if you don’t use the tickets today, you can some other time as other theaters were informed and I think that’s one big fat lie since no one notified us online

4. Again I asked the Twitter person and there was NOTHING, NO REPLY and after some time they decided to tweet on what happened! maskhara! That person even is not into what’s happening. Only thing that person does is Retweet and announce movies release!

Toz! I am not going to go to watch a movie there again (and that’s for now who knows what will they be showing in the future) ! but what reallllllly pisses me off is their tweep – the dude handling their account either has ordered not to reply to inquiries which is stupid because you’re misusing your social media medium or doesn’t understand English… some have suggested that it’s a Robot! lol sending automated tweets but no, they retweet good feedback and neglect – block – delete the actual ones which could help them fix their services – shame, you cant take criticism!

On a more desperate and very angry note, I decided to call & file a complaint against that person’s neglect to tweets and the reply – attitude I got was really bad, as if they don’t give a shit about what people have to say.

As Kuwaiti’s say: “Elsharha mo 3aleikom” – “Shame on us – it’s our fault” for wasting money on your tickets, crappy smelly halls and overly priced popcorn which got me poisoned the next day making spend new year’s eve at Dar El Shifa hooked to an IV drip!

Over at my parents place and to be more specific, my sister’s room when my eyes came across this mini brochure with the Black lady (I have no other description for it and sorry if you find it offensive, I am not trying to be mean nor make fun) and I was curious more than ever to know why they had the Red big sign on that figure so I read the thing which was ok till I got to the back side of it…

I will translate the above and let you know why I was upset from this:

28- (Literal translation) Watching poisonous Satellite channels and pornographic sites:

OK, I get that porn is a haram and no no but can’t a Muslim after fulfilling his Godly duty pass some time watching a documentary? A movie? Some TV show he-she likes? are all channels bad?! I know that some of’em’s level have stooped down tremendously and just to be honest is garbage but we have brains and we can flip if we don’t want to watch just don’t generalize!

29- (Literal translation) Fall into traps of lies, slander and backstabbing:

Fair enough and true! I mean we were warned in the Quran about it however, it is difficult nowadays to keep our mouths shut and this applies on both genders not women alone! and I won’t go over verses here or quotes because we all know them quite well.

30- (Literal translation) Shaking hands with foreign men = strangers:

Besides the hygienic side to it, it’s all about modest, shyness and self respect and I personally find it hard embarrassing some men who extend their hands for a shake however, I never thought a man rude if he turns me down, you know we just do these things unconsciously..

31- (Literal translation) Not abiding to Sunnah when it comes to beauty and fashion:

Eyebrow plucking [ Al Nams ] is haram but how on Earth am I supposed to go around with nasty eyebrows and facial hair (although I seriously don’t need to do that) but still, being “clean” for your husband and for yourself is something good.. I know it’s haram :/

32- (Literal translation) Being fashionable in an Against Islam manner:

I remember when I put the hejab on, I was strict and very uptight about it till my father told me to go slowly and get used to it and not to wear Abaya or Black / dark head carves and praised me for the move instead of coming down harsh on me like some sheikhs do which honestly drive ladies away from doing that . I know that my attire sometimes is not “Islam appropriate” but does Islam accept Niqabi ladies to ditch their niqab at any possible chance? or have a 5 years old kid wearing an abaya!? Does that plant modesty in them from childhood, is that the purpose? In this era – time, I feel this pushes them to go do the opposite! Also, is it haram if a hejabi lady looks nice in colors and prints AND manage to be covered and decent? or does that make her a sinner?

33- (literal translation) STARING – not looking away:

Hmm… In nature we women are supposed to be shy – decent but some ladies sure as hell master the art of scanning men like a predator mannn they are nasty I assure you and they do more than that when they give guys their numbers or the stupid eye contacts with the BBMs and shit, so I guess BBM – Twitter – FB – internet, alllllllll is haram but we use them and again this is up to the person himself so why specify it in the brochure to women?!

34- (literal translation) Correspond to foreign men / comply to their saying:

I am not sure if I got this one right but if my boss who’s a male asks me for something should I refuse? Because I don’t think a sane woman would take off her panty of a stranger asked her to!

35- (literal translation) Ditching modesty / shyness:

Sometimes ya akhy one goes crazy – upset and voice tone goes a bit, certainly not a nice scene and yes women have to be much subtle and “soft” yet that doesn’t mean that we go into a cocoon and be antisocial

Well, to a reasonable extent we all do just don’t go bashing people with you family name … …….

37- (literal translation) Working in a mixed gender workplace:

This point is what ticked me off into writing this post because we are not be zaman el jaheleya! Looooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago things were much different, women were staying home to watch after the family and in Quran we females are the weaker gender and it’s a man’s duty to earn for the household and it would sure be AWESOME if we could all stay home and better watch and take care of the men and children but some scholars really push it when they say women should work in men free organizations and that occupancies are available.. WHERE IS THAT? Even in KSA it’s hard to land such jobs so where in Kuwait good decent women could find decently paying jobs where it’s not mixed for them to support the husband financially? I’ve personally applied at schools and the pay is just not good! yan3y I leave my husband and kid to work for a minimal pay which doesn’t comply to our consumption? la2, I’d rather work with men whom I consider brothers and be normal! If you go back to Muhammed PBUH you’ll read about many examples where he was flexible and understanding and in Islam there are examples of women supporting their elderly fathers so to whomever printed this must further learn about Islam and just not make it harder than it is already for working Muslim decent women :@ Men now can’t just take responsibility for everything! Plain haram because it’s stressful enough to make a decent life and worry about raising kids and living under a roof with basic necessities. Where the hell in my case am I going to apply my studies and uni. degree? being a nurse? teaching girls at a girls only schools? or work from home? who does this in Kuwait, tell me and I will apply? Work at an Islamic bank? Even those places have men, security men? office boys – cleaners!

38- (literal translation) Wearing colored contacts to beautify oneself :

I for one don’t use colored contacts but why not wear them if there’s a girls only gathering?

39- (literal translation) Traveling without a mahram :

A Mahrams is the category that refers to all those males whom a woman cannot marry at anytime in her life whatsoever. In other word a male who is forbidden permanently, forever (i.e. one’s father, brother or son etc). of course if a women is married then she accompanies the husband and again there are many details on certain distances which a woman can go around without her mahram but in the KSA they let them ladies go with their drivers when he is not a mahran obviously so can someone explain how they allow this to happen while Hai2at el amr bel ma3roof people question every single lady and we’ve heard so many stories on women with their own husbands being stopped and asked for some sort of marriage – relation identification eh!  What about business trips?? Do we also say no unless we take a brother, father, grandfather, husband along? no wonder why employers think twice before hiring females besides all the other things we go through from moody PMSing, pregnancy, children and domestic issues to handle..

40- (literal translation) Wearing tight – figure showing abayas and clothes:

I mentioned above that wearing fashionable decent clothes doesn’t do harm and MEN should not stare but for the tight abayas, yes I would say them hideous sometimes FAT ASS women in tight abayas should be punished just because they do serious damage to the eye! Either wear it right or freakin take it off since it shows every single part of you and sometimes they wear nothing underneath and that’s nasty! and this is what I mean when I say that they are forced to wear it just for their families – communities / tradition.

At the end, I just want to clear again that I am not making fun nor am I undermining Islam or what we have to obey from Allah – prophet Muhammed’s PBUH’s saying but times are different and scholars should be more open to flexibility and inviting more people towards Islam not the opposite with such a brochure!

Tell you the truth, the only reason I would go to Pizza hut is their salad bar which I like because it’s simple and it’s very casual to just go sit there no matter what you have on. Man decided to eat Chicken Arrabiatta Chicken pasta in addition to the salad and the Spinach rolls, as for the sandwiches I had the Chicken chili one and the waitress suggested we take another option to try it out so man chose the Roast beef sandwich. I skipped taking shots of the the items we ordered and focused on the sandwiches..

This was my chicken chili sandwich and you’d know any dish is mine if you see ketchup all over it! Comes in a decent sized bread with the wedges

Again with the ketchup not just for my love of ketchup but I thought it lacked some moistness in it – some kind of sauce or dressing also if I may add, they need to add more in it! More chicken or veggies at least, it’s just too little for the bread you know.. I don’t care about the bread as much as what’s in it.

But after eating the first of half of mine, man decided to spare his half because he didn’t like it.. why? hmm.. well as you see it’s like 2 slices of roast beef and a slab of mushroom sauce! again, either add lettuce and some melted cheese on it to make it richer or stack them beef slices because all I could taste is the bread in this sandwich and I compared it to Hardee’s yummy roast beef n’chedder.

For both dishes more stuffing need to be added – work on a sauce to give that that extra “zing” to the taste and for KD 1,950 you could add a table spoon of Cole Slaw maybe? just of someone decides to insert in the sandwich or have like a complete meal if you may instead of having a separate order of salad which would be cool!

9 months of suffering.. 9 months of being deprived decent food since I mainly lived on ice cream and mostly desserts.. 9 months of sleeping like a bear during hibernation.. 9 months of staying home after work started to get me tensed as well as everyone around me (since I throw tantrums excluding no one).. 9 months of wearing 4 colors of the same pants (H&M’s maternity clothes).. 9 months of being smoke free.. 9 months of being bitchier than I usually am and she came along!

The beginning of the whole pregnancy was a surprise although we were planning on having a baby but just about the time I gave up, I came to knew when the ER doctor demanded I get a test and my first reaction was: “How?” of course he had to mock and replied: “You know how it happened” <– DUH! and of course to spare the world my drama and since I was in the mood for nothing, good ol’ blog was abandoned and I think updating will be an issue since little ALMA (That’s my kid’s name) clutches on to me like a Koala! No matter how hard I try to keep her in bed she starts crying wanting to be held all of the time which I don’t mind honestly, I am just waiting for her to be old enough to dress up without puking all over herself and take her out, have her nails done ;p and go around cruising in the car. All moms know that sleeping during this period becomes if I may say a “wish”; Kid has to be fed every 2 hours besides the diaper changing and anything else that comes along yet again I don’t mind since we spend quality time together and I get to “gaga and gogo” to her in the kitchen where she loves to stay it seems in spite she has lots of nice things to do or places to be like her bassinet or that soft mat with hanging toys or her chair! This one is very stubborn (wonder where she got that from!)

Bism Allah & Masha’allah

I am currently blogging with her on my lap farting (yes babies pass gas like men!) which is making her uncomfortable and since the satellite in the building is not working AND since I managed to do house chores I said yalla, let’s do this quick post before she wakes up asking for her snack.. breastfeeding, was not fun at the beginning but I managed to get along eventually and since we’re talking about this I need to rant out the fact that I am being fed like a cow to lactate and I am gaining weight like never before and this is the most annoying thing to me at this point (My jeans don’t fit no more :( ) so I guess I am going to subscribe to one of those diet centers and hope for fast results. As for work, well.. I enjoy being at home but it sometimes is boring but I don’t know if I would be able to leave kid alone or under the care of a stranger which reminds me, I still don’t have someone to help around the  house although we tried a lady for a month but man got bullestic and decided to terminate her services (a7san) my next plan is to teach Alma how to clean and set her loose around the house with me ! Need I also remind you readers that she clutches on to me to the point that I find it hard to go to the toilet *currently struggling*

So, it’s all about the feeding, changing, bottle sterilizing, clothes washing and burping for now when it comes to this baby. I just can’t wait to have her starting conversations with me which makes up for me feeling that I am missing out on a lot of what’s happening around me… Gosh I feel like am 120 years old! I walk around with a bag full of things for her and bottles and bibs.. bas it’s fun :p 

P.S: Mommyhood teaches you patience so expecting ladies put your stress aside and sleep as much as you humanly can because you won’t be getting enough once you pop baby out!! *Drinks Turkish coffee to stay awake* oh, and expoilt your husband during this period ;p

Married women, is there like a schedule you have for meals to cook everyday !? Or your imagination runs you wild o mashallah y’all are Martha Stewart wannabes! no seriously, if you work and you got like an hour n’ half to whip something up from scratch HOW DO YOU IT EVERY DAY?! and if you don’t what are the options? and do you get to go out like before?! Don’t start giving me the “when you get a baby it’ll be worse” talk I KNOW but why is there so much to do while there’s less time :( !

We called them for the address since the stupid GPS didnt include it’s address and it took like +20 minutes drive from the Marina to where it’s located but it was beautiful since it’s located next to the [ Shangri La Hotel ] and an old / modern souk called [ Souk Qaryat El Beri ] with it’s amazing designs and nice shops, sadly enough we arrived too late and we barely had enough time to eat and by the time we we’re done everything was closed.. a sign from God for me to keep my hands tight! eh

Inside seating area, which was ok but the outer one was nice if it wasn’t for the huge cockroaches and lizards outside hanging on top of us and I felt really bad / disgusted for the place since it’s big in Kuwait and I was edgy the rest of the night – looking for roaches yukh! oh, and the staff made fun of me for that lol!

The beetroot and chocolate bread – took a slice and that’s it! Not my favorite combo!

Mezze Platter which had calamari, prawns and beef fillet and some other thing that tasted weird! and we had 2 kinds of salads and NO I don’t get apples in a salad!

and of course the steak! I got the pepper coated 300 gms of Black Angus beef, medium well – pink from the inside cut with mushroom sauce – good..

Now that I tried it, I can honestly say that it’s “ok” so I dont get the hype about it on the other hand, I loved their friendly smiling, energetic staff! They are cute! and the birthday bashes and amazing I just wanted to get up and do the dance with them!

P.S: NOT CHEAP AT ALL !

The company booked on Al Etihad to land us straight in A.D and I only got to drink coffee on the plane since they were serving snacks only and I am used now to Wataniya’s lavish meals so I kept quiet ;/ bas it was smooth although cloudy and dusty.

What I like about Aloft is the color scheme they have inside, it’s too girly! yeeeey ;p colors every where! and it’s laid back in the sense that it’s not formal – you’ll find pool tables in the lobby and a cute cafe and funky furniture. I didnt go around the hotel yet, will try to take pics of the pool area + the gym along with ADNEC itself which is really cool!

My room is Blue! It’s cozy and cute – spacious enough for 2. Internet is wireless for free and all the amenities you’ll required are available in the room although I bought enough Diet Coke to last me a week ;p
